We just published a new guide to using hypnosis for weight loss. We understand that there are some people out there who have some philosophical concerns. Our perspective is that we simply want to guide people to things that help them lose weight. One observation we have is that hypnosis is a really bad word. It describes a process and not a result. And the word for the process sounds very scary to some. But the reality of hypnosis is that it is simply a tool that helps condition your mind to do something you want it to
If you want to quit smoking for example, hypnosis can help you quit smoking. If you want to improve your sports performance, hypnosis can help you through that. Good hypnosis programs help to create new associations and new patterns. One of many proven tools we see out there.
The article linked to above looks at three different research studies on hypnosis. The results mirror what we see anecdotally-- that it is a great tool to help make new changes permanent. We mention it as well in our tip of the day email, because it can really help people embed all the
new ideas we present to show people what real weight loss looks like.
I would love to lose some weight and begin and exercise program however many things seem to get in my way. I work and full time job and take a class at a local community college. I would like to work out in the morning however the fitness center in the apartment where I live doesn't open until 6am and I need to be at work by 7:30. I would like to get up at 5am and work out for at least 40 minutes. I thought about joining a 24 hour gym but I just don't have the money at this time. Excuses, Excuses that is all I have.
I have Dr. Roberta's hyponsis cds but I haven't used them in a while. HELP. Where can I find the motivation???!!!!

I am a certified hypnotherapist with bachelor degree in pyschology and social work. No post bachelor degree. I am very well trained. I had a life threatening physical situation that the doctors where having difficulty getting a handle on. I enlisted the assistance of a P.H.D. level phychologist and professor at a leading medical program in New York City. I enlisted her help because I could calm down enought to relax. Her technique and breath of knowledge was one tenth of mind. And no recording, like I do, for repetion. So while I appreciate your advice on this matter there are many well trained - better trained hypnotherapists out there who are highly, if not more, effective.

Jane, I'm not sure what your intention is here but have you seen Dr. Roberta Temes credentials? You might want to check out the link and article. Thanks.
