This video shows how to isolate and work out the biceps using resistance bands. You engage a very wide variety of muscles beyond just biceps and resistance bands work "phenomenally well" to engage your entire arms, forearms and shoulders.
It also gives you a great workout and you can get a great workout very quickly. And if you are a woman and want to tone up, just lower the weight and raise the reps. Using the lighter bands in addition to cardio will help you burn fat and tone up. Basically with resistance bands you can very effectively build muscle or lose weight and adjust depending on your goal. Bodylastics is by far the best resistance product on the market right now btw- they have a high manufacturing cost, high quality product that is sold at a very reasonable price.
This video goes over 4 exercises to workout chest muscles. The first exercise shows you how to work both the upper and lower pectoral muscles with resistance bands.
People gain muscle with P90X because Tony Horton does such a great job with the workout. Muscle weighs more than fat, so if you have been experiencing weight gain on P90X that is the reason.
If you are P90X fanatic (there are many of you out there btw and we year nothing but good things about this program) you definitely get a set of Bodylastics to upgrade your overall workout experience. Blake Kassel explains why, and there is a link to a Bodylastics coupon code at the end of this post:
We have been going on a bit about Bodylastics recently, and were in the same area as the company founder. So we grabbed some lunch and heard more about the product which we have become big fans of. It is one of those things that is easy to have around, and you just end up using it. The end result is that you work out more. That has been our experience. One of the interesting things we learned from him is that the primary challenge people have with resistance bands in general is that they somehow think that because they are cheap, they don't work as well.
We asked Blake this question on video- we also asked him for a special coupon for pt members, which is at the bottom of this post:
