I will sometimes order a salad at a fast-food restaurant and take it home to use salad dressing that is fat-free or low in calories. Or on the RARE occasion I want a cheeseburger, order the smallest hamburger (usually on the dollar menu) w/lettuce, tomato, ketchup, mustard, pickles, and onion; take it home and put a slice of ff cheese on it.

Make every calorie count for density in nutrition as well. In other words, don't waste your calories on foods in in calories and low in nutritional value.
