PEERtrainer Audio Interview With Dr. Frederic Vagnini On How To Combat Diabetes and Heart Disease
(Posted By Habib Wicks, PEERtrainer Co-Founder)
This is an fantastic interview that Jackie did yesterday with Dr. Frederic Vagnini. He used to be a heart surgeon and for the last 15 years has had a diabetes practice in NYC. We got a copy of his new book (The Weight Loss Plan For Beating Diabetes) a few months ago and really liked both the tone and the content.
We see all the books in this space and we felt strongly that he in particular is moving the conversation forward. This is an important point because narrative is everything. What people hear is what people believe.
We have told this story many times before, but when we started PEERtrainer and started to get some traction and success, a really smart guy took us aside and essentially said that "98 percent of what people believe to be true about health and weight loss is completely wrong." This guy ran a multi billion dollar health care company, and was in the position to know. I have mentioned that this is also the person who introduced us to Dr. Joel Fuhrman.
Anyway, my point here is that when we come across the rare individuals who are working to construct a new narrative, who have the courage or personal leverage to do so, we do everything in our power to promote them. Take a listen to this interview. I was very excited when I got a chance to listen to this because Dr. Vagnini is so passionate, unguarded and very real. This not a guy who is here to get his ego stroked. He is on a mission to improve lives.
When you hear him speak you are going to be open to his ideas. He clearly got me fired up! (Btw if you are in the NYC area, he has a weekly call on WOR Sundays at 4pm.)

We will be hearing a lot more from Dr. Vagnini. If you have ANY questions for him please ask them in the comments section below. We will do as many question and answer sessions as we can. If there are any parts of the interview that you liked or want to comment on, please leave them in the comments section below.
Personally, as someone who has suffered from Gluten sensitivity, I found his comments about gluten very interesting. You want to be reducing your gluten intake. (Why should I reduce my wheat intake?) This means, bread, muffins, cereal. He also mentions dairy. At some point these ideas are going to become mainstream.
