We are just about to launch a new PEERtrainer Spotlight, and we would like to invite you to be considered for it.
The Spotlight is a team of 16 active PEERtrainer members who support each other and have their logs viewable to everyone in the PEERtrainer community to see. In the past this has proven to be an extremely active and close group, with a powerful level of support and accountability.
In an additional twist, this upcoming Spotlight will be sponsored by Philips new DirectLife fitness coaching system. The DirectLife system consists of a small device you add to a keychain or necklace and wear during your day. The device connects to your computer where you can periodically upload your data to a website which will gather your activity data.
What makes this system unique is that live coaches from DirectLife will be reviewing your activity and offering feedback. We know from extensive experience building and running PEERtrainer that this added level of accountability is a powerful motivator. (PEERtrainer pioneered structured online accountability for weight loss and fitness, and we saw it work from the moment we launched the site in 2005.)
When you know that there is even the smallest possibility that someone will see your food or exercise log, it changes your behavior in a positive way. The combination of PEERtrainer accountability and DirectLife accountability will be a powerful one.
Each member of this upcoming Spotlight will be mailed a device to keep ($100 value) as well as be given a three month subscription to the online coaching service. The Spotlight will run 6 weeks. If you aren’t selected for this first Spotlight we will be running a second one just like the first for another 6 weeks.
For this Spotlight we will be looking for people who ideally are just starting to exercise or starting to move more after a long absence. We are also looking for people who are active on PEERtrainer and committed. Participants need to be active in social media and blogging in general.
As a sponsor Philips is looking to generate a broader discussion about this new product in online communities such as PEERtrainer.
