NutriSystem Select has been out for about a month now, and the best way to assess the primary value of the program is to see how NutriSystem themselves is marketing it. In more than a few instances they refer to Select as providing "Restaurant Quality Food" and "Gourmet Fresh Frozen Meals Delivered Right To Your Door." A recent article on the NutriSystem Website provided further explanation:
"NutriSystem Select has been a very exciting addition here at NutriSystem, with its restaurant-quality cuisine and a variety of fabulous NEW fresh-frozen entrees and desserts. Who would have ever thought that you could eat ice cream on a weight loss program? It’s literally our most indulgent program ever!
From the start, the Select menu was created with an emphasis on flavor. With comfort food favorites like Golden French Toast, Margherita Pizza, and Steak and Cheese Melts and sophisticated offerings like Garden Vegetable Omelets, Beef Tips with Portobello Mushrooms and creamy Shrimp Alfredo—plus a whole host of indulgent desserts—it truly is a premium program. And the best part is, all of the new NutriSystem Select entrees and desserts meet the NutriSystem nutritional guidelines to ensure that you still get healthy, balanced nutrition designed for weight loss."
This really helps to understand their thinking behind the product, that for an extra $70 or so a month you can "upgrade" your food choices to include basically stuff you would order in a restaurant. It is portion controlled, so you don't have to worry about calorie bombs. And it tastes good, so you don't feel deprived. This is a very popular
Most people are inclined "towards pleasure" and this program promises that in spades. It is a good approach as well- they brought in a solid channel partner in Schwan's, a well known name in food delivery. It is important to note that the frozen meals only represent 1/4 of the menu items. You still get 3/4 pre-made food. We have written a much longer explanation of
NutriSystem Select that includes a comprehensive FAQ. We have also written about the
NutriSystem Select Menu Items here.
Is NutriSystem Select Worth It?
From what we see, if you are a long term NutriSystem customer, you might want to "upgrade." You'll get some nice variety, new tastes. It is a premium program. Overall, being on NutriSystem does not cost that much because you are mainly replacing the foods you would already eat. If you are looking to ease into NutriSystem, you might want to check out the
NutriSystem Flex Program, which allows you do to the program 5 out of 7 days a week.
How To Order NutriSystem Select

NutriSystem Select User Reviews:
These were comments from recent customers of NutriSystem Select:
“I expected everything to be packaged in cardboard boxes, thus taking up a ton of freezer space, and I really liked that tons of items are packaged in little bags. I still have room in my freezer, yay!”
“I am slowly working my way through the a la carte Select items, and they are all very good so far! If anyone out there wants to try it, I’d highly recommend it.”
“I am very happy with the Select plan so far. Conclusion: We will continue with the program.”
“I decided to try one week of Select. So far, it’s very good. It’s a nice option for those days that my husband and I just aren’t in the mood for any of the shelf-stable items.”
“I have loved all of the Select foods I have tried so far.”
“I’m loving Select. Not cheap but excellent quality.”
“The variety keeps you motivated. Cheaper than eating out!”
"I sought to show the changing balance of planes - from anti-ship torpedo and dive bombers in the early days when the main objective was destroying other ships - to fighter planes, whose main job was to defend against the kamikazes in the final months."
Max, Midway is pretty much the final act of anti-ship carrier warfare, right? If you follow Keegan and Churchill, it's the critical turning point in the Pacfic war - there's a wonderfully readable description of Midway in Keegan's The Price of Admiralty.
