Are you combining use of a Bowflex Home Gym or Bowflex TreadClimber with a Weight Watchers Diet?
If so, that is most likely a good formula for weight loss success, but there is an important consideration to bear in mind.
The Bowflex company (owned by fitness giant Nautilus) makes some great home exercise equipment. You can read our product review of the Bowflex Home Gyms here and the Bowflex TreadClimber here. No matter what exercise program you undertake, however, you need to be aware of this important fact: the more you workout, the more your appetite is likely to increase.
It’s simple math if you think about it: the more calories you use, the more your body will look to replace.
This is okay as long as you’re aware of it, but you’re going to have to make some important choices about what you eat when you increase your hunger.
Here are two good suggestions on how to handle this:
1) Significantly increase your water consumption.
This is a particularly good idea if you’re working out a great deal because you’re going to be losing a lot of water from your body. Additionally, water keeps keep you feeling full.
2) Eat plenty of low point, high-nutrient foods
If you need to increase your overall food consumption, just make sure you’re choosing great foods that are high in nutrients, low in points, and are filling and delicious. Some great staples you might consider are spinach (fresh or frozen), beans and sweet potatoes.
Sautéed spinach with some beans and salsa are a great snack or quick meal. It’s economical and delicious, and will keep you full without using a lot of points.
Does anybody have a chart for how many points you burn on the treadclimber at different speeds and inclines?
