This has been a very popular dessert recipe. You can make a "Hot Apple Sundae" in 2 minutes with your microwave. You can substitute whatever jam you want for marmalade. This is easy, cheap, healthy, low in calories. Really a perfect way to eat dessert.
Definitely let us know what your jam or flavor of choice is. You might try just mixing coconut oil, sugar and cinnamon.
Ingredients:
1 Apple
1/2 Teaspoon of Butter or Coconut Oil
Cinnamon
Sugar
Marmalade or your Jam of choice
Directions:
Core the top of the apple, leaving the bottom part of the core intact. Put your mix in, and microwave for three minutes. The mix will start to bubble, and cover part of the apple.
Cool and enjoy very slowly. It will be hot!

I can't wait to try this! My kiddos are suffering from dessert deprevation since I started to work on my diet (and theirs too). I think they will be a lot happier now. Thanks!

The jelly is what throws me off. Jelly has sooo much sugar for so little of a serving! I'd rather eat a brownie with the same amount of sugars, if I'm ever going to have sugar. Otherwise I'll just eat the fruit, not the jelly. Dates are a great sugar substitution, or bananas, but those are kinda high sugar too and I don't usually feel 100 percent after eating those either. Still--way better than jelly sugar, which is usually corn syrup or granulated white sugar!

this post landed in my inbox yesterday, prompted me to make my own version of the dessert.
i had no apples or marmalade, but there was a pear and some fig and honey jam in my fridge.
so i peeled half a pear, cored it neatly to leave a channel along the length, and filled it with a teaspoon of fig and honey jam. zapped it in the microwave for 3 minutes, and sat down to enjoy a delish dessert of pears with caramalised fig and honey compote!
thanks jackie for the inspiration

No recipe, no video.
If I core an apple, stuff a teaspoon of jelly into the core, how long should it be microwaved before it comes out, gets cut in two & sprinkled with cinnamon?
I fabricated that plan based on the comments of the lucky folks that saw the recipe. Am I close?

I made this last night and it IS surprisingly satisfying. Let it sit for about 5 minutes after you take it out of the microwave. It doesn't really matter what kind of apple you use. If you like crunchier, use Granny Smith, if you like sweeter use Red Delicious, but really, it doesn't matter. I used sugar free smuckers jelly, about a teaspoon and about 1/2 teaspoon of butter on top of that, stuffed into the core (leave the bottom of the apple intact, you just remove most of the core section). After it was done, and I let it sit, I sliced it open and sprinkled it w/a bit of cinnamon. Very nice treat on a fall evening...Heidi

You said it's 2 points on Weight Watchers. How much sugar and how much orange marmalade do you use?
