I got an email from a new subscriber to the Tip of The Day program this morning and it was really nice, but this woman really needed a lot of help in addition to what we provide. She made the following comment:
"Thank you for giving me a place to be supported that is not a large room with 50
shivering women in tears over a WW weigh in."
But she mentioned she was in a very high risk in terms of the health impact of her weight. It is great that she has joined the PEERtrainer family, but Weight Watchers Online is a great additional tool, made much better with the fundamental changes of the Momentum program.
If you are in a high risk category you need to be doing Momentum, you need to see someone like Dr Fuhrman. Maybe your own doctor has failed you but there are great ones out there. You can even do a phone consultation with Dr. Fuhrman. He has helped people successfully lose hundreds of pounds. So has Weight Watchers.
If you are a little overwhelmed and don't really know where to start, get someone to start asking you some questions to help you assess your health and your overall readiness to lose weight. Weight Watchers has a great tool that does this.
This idea of readiness is also something that therapist Joshua Wayne talks about a lot. In particular he mentions the difference between wanting to lose weight and expecting to lose weight. The difference for most people is that we tend to get what we expect and not what we want. You can read more about this idea here.
